Simon Rademan

Simon Rademan was born in Ceres, Cape Province, South Africa, in 1964, the first year of apartheid in the country. Both his parents were deaf, so he learned sign language before he could speak either Afrikaans or English. He served as a bank-clerk for 5 years and made his mark as an actor, radio artist and performer. At the International Academy of Fashion in Gauteng, he took part-time studies in Art, Graphic art, Make-up, Hairstyling, Modeling and Paint Techniques. He later enrolled at the International Academy of Fashion in Pretoria to study Fashion design and received his Diploma in Haute Couture and majored in Pattern Design, Textiles and Creative Styling. His lecturing in design, millinery, etiquette, modeling and beading has shaped and moulded the ideas of a generation of young designers. His studio- The Simon Rademan Fashion Design Studio, a design house that is today widely recognized for excellent craftsmanship and true style. He is already considered a legend and an icon in the South African fashion industry.

Simon Rademan has been involved in nationwide searches, scouting for numerous competitions, including the very prestigious, Miss South Africa, Mr South Africa and Mrs South Africa.

Mustafa Hassanali

Mustafa Hassanali is a Tanzanian fashion designer and a qualified doctor. His collections have been shown widely throughout Africa and Italy. His work features detailed beadwork and embellishments and has been showcased at the Cape Town Fashion Week, Vukani Fashion Awards in Pretoria, Miss Ethiopia Beauty pageant, Mediterranean Fashion Festival in Sicily, Italy and Uganda-Kenya Fashion Week, as well as signature shows in Tanzania. He is also involved in Swahili Fashion Week. His work has been featured in several African magazines and he has also been featured on CNBC Europe, MNETS studio 53, SABC Africa and East Africa TV

Darryl Jagga

Darryl Jagga is a New York based South African Fashion Designer. “43.46 aggaj” refers to his contemporary line. He studied fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. To gain experience from some of the best designers in the industry, Jagga worked for top American labels such as Victor Costa, Calvin Klein, Castle Starr and Chaiken. During his tenure as a Senior Designer at Apparel Holding Groups, Jagga launched the very successful CJ label. After he left Apparel Holding Groups, he worked extensively in the world’s fashion capital such as London, Paris, and Hong-Kong. In 2009, he debuted his premiere collection for Resort and Summer 2010, inspired by the South of France. Among the celebrities who have worn Darryl Jagga’s designs are Anya Monzikova, Bai Ling, and Natasha Alam.

Darryl Jagga is renowned for linking art and architecture to his designs. His signature elements are ruffles or bold zippers on his dresses.
